Principal’s
Message
As a new
member of the Liberty School community, I am looking forward to an exciting and
rewarding school year. I am honored to
have joined such a dedicated and caring staff.
They have committed themselves to providing a positive and nurturing
environment that focuses on success for all.
Our expectations for our students remain constant; respect for self,
respect for others, and respect for learning.
We anticipate the 2004-2005 school year to be filled with learning and
fun. Welcome back!!

PTO NEWS
Thank you so much to the
volunteers and cheering parents who made Back To School Day so
wonderful for the children! The kids loved the decorations and warm
reception they received when they arrived at school, and were thrilled with
the apple, treat, and new folder each found
on their desk. Special thanks go to the Salter family for
making arrangements to have the apples donated to our school! Thank you,
also, to our Entertainment Book representative, Jonathon Schneider, for
supplying a complimentary book for each teacher and staff
member. They couldn't have been happier with the gift found on
their desk the first day of school. What a great way to kick
off the new school year!
Sad goodbyes were said on Monday,
Sept. 20, to Mrs. D'Ambola, but she was smiling when she received her beautiful
basket filled with goodies from the PTO and farewell cards from the students
and teachers. Mr. Batha was surprised on Tuesday morning with goodies,
a lovely new pen, and a balloon to enjoy (also from the PTO) while he gets
settled in at Liberty School. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who
made both Principals feel so good!
Our next PTO meeting is
Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 9:15 am (changed from 9:30) in Mr. Batha's office.
Our first meeting of the school year (Sept. 14) was awesome, very
positive, and enormous! Thank you to all who attended and
volunteered to chair and help out with our many
committees. We hope that by having several morning meetings this year,
each of you will be able to fit at least one into your busy schedule.
Don't miss this year's Back To
School night on Wed., Sept 29. We will be serving delicious Market Day
samples for your taste-testing pleasure! Also coming up… a Boxtops
Contest from Oct. 1-31. The winning classroom will receive an
ice cream party from the PTO!! A boxtops description flier was included
in your back to school packets to reference. Send in those boxtops!!
Thank you to our assembly
coordinators for arranging our first PTO sponsored assembly of
the school year, Women Back To The Future, which will be held
on Tues., Nov. 9, at 9:30 am. Parents
are welcome! It promises to be a fun and educational event! This
is another example of the many wonderful things the PTO can do for the
children with your support and donations.
Thanks also to the parents who
helped with the Back To School and Entertainment/KidStuff books packets.
If you have not returned your coupon books or payment to the school, please do
so right away as everything is being wrapped up this week!
Market Day will be giving free
chicken steaks to any first time customer that orders in
October. Look for the Market Day order form that is coming home this
week. Orders are due Friday, October 8.
