Wilson Reading

The Wilson reading system teaches reading and spelling in a systematic, multisensory, step by step manner.  It is appropriate for students  who have not internalized the sound and syllable system and continue to struggle with reading and spelling. The system is based on accepted Orton- Gillingham philosophy and principles as well as on current phonological coding research.   The program emphasises decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling). Students learn to tap out sounds in syllables to read or to spell. There are twelve books in the Wilson System and progress will be seen in students by the time they reach the third book.
