Always and Forever

By Lurlene McDaniel

This is an extremely touching and sad story of the friendship of two sixteen-year-old girls who come from very different economical backgrounds.  Jory Delaney, an only child, whose parents have la great deal of money, don’t always seem to be there for her. On the other side is Melissa Austin’s mom who works hard to support Melissa and her brother, Michael. Jory could have anything she wants, but can’t seem to find herself. Melissa wants to earn a Merit Scholarship to pay for college so she can become a lawyer. She gains a spot on the Brain Bowl team, but must fight to keep it when she becomes extremely ill. Although Jory knows that money can’t buy everything but she would give it all to Melissa, if it would have helped. This is a great story of two girls dealing with a devastating disease.
