The Search for Belle Prater

Belle Prater has been missing for over a year and Woodrow, her son, has been living with his grandparents. His dad felt this was the better place for him. He is close to his cousin, Gypsy, and they always do things together. When a new girl, Cassie Caulborne, comes to school, she becomes part of the group, with her gift of a second sense. Belle does call Woodrow at the stroke of midnight on his birthday, but doesn’t say anything. This begins the search for her with the children taking the bus to Bluefield. On the trip they meet Joseph, a black boy, who is searching for his father. They help him find his aunt, a midget and the deepening of friendship between the children begins!
