Among the Enemy

This is the latest in a series of books by Margaret P. Haddix entitled the “Shadow Series.” This one begins with Matthias asleep at Niedler School when the Population Police arrive and take all the children away in trucks. Although he escapes with two friends, they encounter many difficulties along the way. When his friends get hurt badly, Matthias has to do something he never thought he would. Learning about a new program initiated by the Population Police and what they plan on doing to the third children in families is quite hurtful. This book moves quickly and is an easy read.
