Project Mulberry

Julia, or Jules, Song and Patrick are best friends and they decide they will do a project for the Wiggle Club in hopes of winning first place at the state fair. After much discussion on what project to do, they get an idea from Julia’s mother, to have a silk farm. Now all they need is to find a mulberry tree, which wasn’t as easy as they thought. With some help they locate one, but now nationality, color and prejudice issues arise. Throughout this book, Julia speaks to the author so this is actually a story within a story. It was done very well and it makes you wonder who really was prejudiced.
