The faculty and staff of Liberty School wish everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday Season! SLEDDING OR TUBING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY IS PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES! Yearbook Once again this year we will be offering a yearbook of pictures and memories of the 2005-2006 school year. We are hoping to have an even better one than last year! We will be taking orders for yearbooks in the coming months, but first we are looking for businesses that would like to support our efforts while advertising their business. If you would like to place your business ad in this year’s yearbook, we would be more than happy to accommodate you. Business card size ads will be selling for $25, quarter-page ads for $50, half-page ads for $75, and full-page ads for $100. If you would like to place an ad (and we sure hope you will), please contact the school office or Mrs. Kosiorek at 637-4790 ext. 229. Winter Concerts Please join us for the kindergarten, 1^st Grade, 2^nd Grade and 5^th Grade Winter Concert at the Great Meadows Middle School on December 14^th at 7:00PM, and for the 4^th and 5^th Grade Chorus/Band Concert on December 20^th at GMMS at 7:00PM! Happy Holidays! School Closings and Delayed Openings With winter approaching, it is likely that there will be school closings and delayed openings as a result of inclement weather. Our telephone system allows you to get the latest announcements by simply dialing the Liberty School auto attendant. Mr. Batha will leave a message on the auto attendant if there is any change to the normal schedule. Come see what it was like in the years from 1754 through the Victorian time periods. Sunday, December 11 1 - 4 pm Civil War Santa Scout troops, please make reservations for Civil War Santa Call 908-453-4381		Board of Education The January 23^rd BOE regular meeting will be held at Liberty School at 7:30PM. The February 27^th BOE regular meeting will be held at Central School at 7:30PM. The change in locations will enable community members to partake in guided tours in each building. Workshop Meeting December 12, 2005 7:30PM Middle School Workshop Meeting January 9, 2006 7:30PM Middle School Regular Meeting January 23, 2006 7:30PM Liberty School Kindergarten Registration Registration for the 2006-2007 school year will be held on February 22, 2006. If your child will be 5 years of age on or before October 1, 2006, please call Mrs. Lanzarone at the school at 637-4115. By phoning early, you will help us determine possible class size. We will send you a kindergarten registration packet to be completed and brought back at registration. If you have neighbors with small children, please advise them of our upcoming kindergarten registration. Early Release On days when risky weather arrives unexpectedly and the children are in school, you may call the auto attendant number for information. If an early closing has been decided, the message will state the time of dismissal and any other pertinent information. The auto attendant number 637-4790 is the only school number that will have emergency closing, delayed opening or early release information. Although we make every effort to keep children in school for the full session once they have arrived, some circumstances may require an early release. PLEASE INSURE THAT YOU HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE TO CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY FOR SCHOOL TO DISMISS EARLIER THAN NORMAL. Our constant fear is that a child goes home to an empty house or a locked house and has no idea what to do. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD. If special arrangements are made, please inform the school office. Homework Policy When requesting make-up work for an absent student, please remember that teachers require 24-hour advance notice to compile the assignments. Student Absences When reporting a student’s absence, please remember to call Mrs. Latimer at 637-4790, press 1 for the nurse, and leave the student’s name, the date and the reason for the illness/absence. We hope to see you there! **Thanks to everyone who made the November Book Fair so magical!! And the Winner Is ...... Everyone!  Everyone who dressed up for the King and Queen for a Day contest will be crowned a winner!  All of the participants who came in costume looked great!  The winners will enjoy a royal treat with Mr. Batha! **Thanks also to the many volun-teers who once again made this year’s Sugar Plum Holiday Shop so fun and organized for the kids!!! **Market Day pickup is Dec. 12^th from 5-6 pm at the Middle School. Volunteers are needed to help at the Middle School during pick-ups. If you are interested, please contact Chair Kate Mugno Tibak at 637-6273 or at kate1208@comcast.net . **A Co-President opening will need to be filled for the 2006/2007 school year, as this will be Connie Collier’s last year as an officer (two consecutive one-year terms will have been completed at this time). Full training will be provided. As in the past, all officer positions open annually. Nominations for any of the positions will be accepted until April 4, 2005, and elections will be held at the April 18^th PTO meeting.
