Art News

Congratulations to Alyssa C, Clayton S, Elizabeth D, Juliana H, Matias W, Julia P, Alaina P, Veronica P, Ryan R, Devon S, Amanda N, Andrew W and Olivia M for solving the Mystery Artist Contest.  Marc Chagall, the famous 20th century Russian painter, was April’s artist.

Here are the clues for our final contest of the school year:

  • This artist was born in Spain in 1904.
  • He was one of the most famous and unusual artists of the 20th century.
  • His best-known works are painted in a style of art called Surrealism.
  • He often used images from dreams in his art.
  • His initials are S.D.

Good luck, and please turn all guesses in to the art room by Tuesday, June 6th.

Thank You, Thank You!

Thank you to Mrs. Bippart and Mrs. Maguire for the delicious teachers’ appreciation luncheon for the month of April!  The teachers and staff truly enjoyed the sandwiches!  The lucky winner of the drawing for the month of April was Ms. Latimer!

With the return of warm weather, we want to remind everyone about proper school attire.

Please be sure that children do not wear the following:

  • Extremely low-cut, tight-fitting or transparent clothes; bare midriffs; suggestive clothing; and spaghetti straps.  Straps must be at least three finger-widths across.
  • Skirts, dresses and shorts that are higher than mid-thigh
  • Unsafe footwear (backless shoes, flip-flops, etc.)

Remember that children run on the playground – sneakers are preferred over sandals and should be worn every day.

BIG THANK YOU!

Thank you to the PTO for the wonderful teachers’ appreciation day luncheon! The teachers’ appreciation day committee arranged and set-up an absolutely unbelievable luncheon!   The theme was Hollywood, and the decorating committee did an outstanding job!  We loved the Hollywood theme, and the teachers and staff enjoyed “walking the red carpet!!”  The popcorn was a nice touch!  The food was “out of this world” and we will be sure to patronize the businesses who so generously donated for our special day!  Thank you, also, for the seed packets and the mints!

The lucky winners of the May drawings were:  Ms. Ciniewicz (Clearview Cinema gift bag), Ms. Lanzarone (Pio Costa gift certificate), Mr. Scott (PartyLite gift bag), Ms. Schantzenbach (Williams-Sonoma gift bag), Ms. Doty (Williams-Sonoma gift bag), Ms. Gruszecki (Williams-Sonoma gift bag).

Thank you, PTO, for an amazing year of teacher appreciation!  Thank you to everyone who so generously donated food and prizes!  It has truly been appreciated!  It is a pleasure working with your children!
