Welcome Back Liberty School Families,

Have you ever heard of the rocket sled inventor by the name of Major Edward A. Murphy, Jr.?  He coined the phrase “Murphy’s Law”.  This adage states that “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”.  I believe this can accurately describe our first two days of school at Liberty.  But as I have seen, it’s not what happens to you that is important, but what you do after that.  I thank you for your patience and understanding during these times of transition as we work to correct the mistakes of the past.  We are excited about this year and are looking beyond these recent events, towards a school year that will be both productive and rewarding to all.  Again, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Township School.

Sincerely,

Ernest J. Batha Jr.- Principal

Thank You, Liberty Families

The Jernigans want to thank all the Liberty families that donated items for us to take on our mission trip to the Dominican Republic this past July, you really made a difference for so many kids.  On the trip Tate, Dixon and their parents took all the items you donated to the children in the Dominican Republic and they helped to get a site ready for the construction of a new school.  They also had lots of fun practicing their Spanish and playing with old and new friends.

Muchas Gracias, The Jernigans

Art News

The “Mystery Artist” is back again this year!  Here’s how the contest works:  Each month examples of an artist’s work, along with several hints about the artist’s life, will be displayed in the art room.  Forms for guesses will also be available in the art room.  The winner(s) will be announced every month in the newsletter.

Here are the hints for September’s Mystery Artist:

  • He was born in Nyack, NY, in 1882.
  • He is considered one of America’s greatest realist painters but has also done many etchings and illustrations for magazines.
  • His initials are E.H.

Good luck!  Please turn in all guesses to the art room by Tuesday, September 20th.
