ADDITIONAL FORMATS

      The punctuation marks and certain words are typed in red in the samples below.  Do not use red when typing your Works Cited.  Red has been used to emphasize the importance of the punctuation marks and words to be included when typing your Works Cited.           

 

ALMANAC

WEB SITE

(Type of interview means personal interview or telephone interview. The word 'interview' is to be typed in the lower case.)

     Type of Medium. Distributor,

     Year of Release.

(Type of medium means videocassette or DVD.)

 

                        

LETTER

Last Name, First Name of Author. Letter to the author. Day Month Year.

 

MAGAZINE ARTICLE

Author's Last Name, First Name.

     "Title of Article."  Magazine

     Title Day Month Year: Pages.

 

 

The formats used above are based on the guidelines described in the MLA Handbook.  They may have been modified to meet the needs of the students at Great Meadows Middle School.  The students in grades six through eight will be expected to use the formats when creating a Works Cited page.
