Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at Great Meadows Middle School. The middle school serves roughly 350 students from Liberty and Independence townships. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve your community and work with your child(ren) to help achieve success now and in the future. It is important to remember that middle school students face numerous challenges and undergo many changes from sixth grade to the time they graduate from the eighth grade. Working together, as teachers and parents, we can ensure success for your child(ren). Here is how you can help:

1. Ask your child about school

2. Monitor your child’s homework completion

3. Communicate any concerns you have to the teacher or administration

4. Read with your child

5. Show your child that you value education

6. Be a part of the school community

Here, at the middle school, we strive to provide an outstanding learning environment and educational program that is supportive, nurturing and addresses the needs of each individual student as learners and human beings. As partners, we need to ensure that we work together, communicate and consistently monitor your child’s progress throughout their middle school years.
