PlayMusic.org-  Developed by the American Symphony Orchestra League, this site is geared for students in Grades 2 through 8. It investigates all aspects of the symphony orchestra.

The Music Education Launch Site- This music education launch site serves as both a valuable resource site for teachers and an interactive game site for students. It includes a musical symbol recognition game as well as a musical version of Hangman.

The New York Philharmonic Home Page- The New York Philharmonic Home Page includes a wonderful section for kids. These interactive pages allow students to explore music, as well as play fun musical games.

The Classical MIDI Archives- This site is truly extraordinary, and a little bit scary. It's called the "Classical MIDI Archives" and contains MIDI files of virtually every major piece of classical music ever written. It's great when you don't have a recording of a certain piece.

PBS Arts- PBS has created a wonderful website which can easily be used in the music classroom. Features change monthly, and often correlate to what is airing that month. The "Live from Lincoln Center" feature is wonderful.

Garden State Pops Youth Orchestra- Education- The Garden State ;pops Youth Orchestra has put together a site for younger music students. There are some fun activities for students to complete online.

MusicLand Theme Park- Classes in grades 5-8 work in teams to create the different genre lands within the MusicLand Theme Park.  Students learn about musical theater, Early Jazz (Ragtime, Dixieland, and the Blues), New Jazz (Roaring '20's, Swing, and Be-bop), Rock and Roll, Country & Folk, and Pop music. The 
teams design an area within the park that illustrates not only the music, but how that music fits within a historical context.

Dismuke's Virtual Talking Machine- You can listen to the recordings of the early 20th Century. Hear the wonderful sounds of Caruso, Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald and many more in this truly wonderful collection of online music.

  San Francisco Symphony Kids' Site - SFSKids is an educational Web site for children and
families from the San Francisco symphony. The fun, interactive site introduces future virtuosos to instruments of the orchestra, music theory, and more.
