(Emphasizing Awareness of Recycling Through Habits)

The sixth graders at Great Meadows Middle School are dedicated to doing our part to help protect our environment and educate others about energy and resource conservation.

Our 2008-2009 Project is:

“Change a Light, Change the World”

Help us remove 2,079,200 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from the air this year!  Here’s how it works:

·        Ask your family, friends and neighbors to make a pledge to change 1 incandescent light bulb to an “ENERGY STAR” qualified compact fluorescent light bulb in their home, office, or school.  Use our paper pledge to collect your pledges.

·       With your parent or teacher, enter your pledge at the link provided below.

·        On the link site, enter the number of bulbs pledged for replacement.

·         You may wish to participate in the “Do Even More” survey.

·       Enter Great Meadows Middle School when asked, “How did you find out about the pledge?”  This will update our pledge site values.

·       In “Tell us About Yourself”, enter your FIRST name only, your home or school email, and your home or school zip code.

·       Check off whether you want to receive quarterly emails.

·        Submit your pledge.

Thank you for joining us in taking small individual steps that make a difference in the fight against global warming!

As of April 22, 2009, we are proud to announce that we have achieved 12% of our goal.
