Inclement Weather Days 2017-18 School Year:
This is a message from David C. Mango, Superintendent of Schools. While we brace for the impact of the upcoming weather pattern, please be aware that the district has already used four of the six allotted Board of Education approved inclement weather days. If more than 6 inclement weather days are necessary, they will be made up during the spring holiday break in April beginning with April 6, April 5, and so on. Please refer to the 2017-2018 Great Meadows Board of Education approved calendar on the district website for more details.
Road Closure Notice:
Please be advised while the district recognizes the many challenges and obstacles presented in the aftermath of last Friday's Nor’easter storm, we ask that you partner with us in all temporary change of locations for transportation routes at drop-off and pick-up times. The district has been informed that the main areas of concern are Shades of Death Road, Danville Mountain Road, Townsbury Road, and the intersection of Free Union and Quenby Mountain Roads. During this disruption to our transportation services to affected households, the district encourages you to transport your children to all temporary stops as a best practice measure. The district has and will remain in communication with First Student Transportation, JCP&L Services and our local DPWs.
Again, we thank you in advance for your cooperation during this disruption and know that we look to return to our regular operating procedures as soon as possible.
