In order to be able to control communicable diseases in school, it is important to follow guidelines when your child becomes sick. Common illnesses/communicable diseases seen in the school setting include: COVID-19, influenza, stomach viruses, and RSV, among others.

If your child has any of these symptoms, please do not send him/her to school and contact the school nurse OR if you are unsure, contact the school nurse. Symptoms include: fever of 100 degrees F or greater, sore throat, cough, body aches, headache, stomach ache, loss of taste, loss of smell, shortness of breath, chills, tiredness, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

*Certain symptoms and/or 2 or more specific symptoms may require your child to obtain a negative COVID-19 test, a doctor's note, OR a 5 day quarantine from symptom onset per Department of Health protocols prior to returning to school. Please contact the school nurse for guidance.*
