    GMRSD PTO OFFICERS’ RESPONSIBILITIES

    President

    Duties include:
    Have communication with the Principal, teachers, Superintendent and staff of Central Liberty School and the PTO. Recruit parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles etc. to head the committees set up by the PTO. Speak at Back to School night and any other PTO functions that may occur. Be the 'go to' person for questions from the committee chairs. Run monthly PTO meetings. Sign checks. Be available to attend PTO functions, such as the Holiday Bazaar, Book Fairs and Slumber Party. Help to put together the yearly budget. Be the face of the PTO. Be able to make decisions that are best for the school despite personal grievances others may have.  Have a thick skin.

    Vice President

    Duties include:

    Fulfill all Presidential duties (see above) when the President is unavailable. Attend all events where money is collected and fulfill Treasurer duties when Treasurer is not at the event.  Fulfill Secretary duties when Secretary cannot attend PTO meetings. Communicate with, and assist all Committee Chairs who ask for help.  Work as a team w/the other Officers in putting together the annual budget. Attend other PTO functions (Back to School Night, Slumber Party, Book Fairs, etc.) and be another face of the PTO. Set up and confirm babysitting for each PTO meeting.

    Treasurer

    Duties include:

    Attend fundraisers or other events where money is collected. Maintain accurate records of all money transactions for the PTO - including cash flow statement, balance sheet, income statement, deposits and bank reconciliation. Reconcile bank statements monthly. Produce a detailed monthly statement for each PTO meeting. Process and maintain accounts receivable and payable.

    Secretary

    Duties include:

    Prepare the monthly agenda for the PTO meetings for the President(s) to review.  Attend the monthly PTO meetings and record the minutes. Prepare a monthly PTO calendar.  Take care of/update the PTO bulletin boards in both schools. Maintain the minutes/agenda notebook. Meet with the other PTO officers to work on the PTO budget for the school year. Be available to attend PTO functions, such as the Back to School nights, Holiday Bazaar, Book Fairs and Slumber Party.
