Dear Central School & Liberty School Parents,                                                         September 2011

Welcome back to another year of Box Tops and Labels For Education collecting!  What an easy way to help our schools “Go Green” by recycling garbage to make cash for Central & Liberty Schools!  For those of you who are unfamiliar with these programs, they are very simple.  For the Box Tops for Education program (BTE), cut out and send in Box Tops for Education coupons, like the sample above, which can be found on many General Mills and other products (see a complete list of participating products at www.boxtops4education.com).  Each school earns 10 cents for every one they send in.  The last couple of years, each school earned around  $2,000 from all the Box Tops collected over the school year.  Additionally, from the website you can print coupons, shop online and enter contests that could earn our school bonus Box Tops.  For the Labels for Education Program (LFE), you can cut out and send in the UPCs from all Campbell’s, Pepperidge Farm and many newly added participating products (see a complete list of participating products at www.labelsforeducation.com).  We are able to purchase products from their catalog (using our banked points) that benefit the schools.  In past years, we have ordered sporting equipment for the classes to use during recess and gym, plus some classroom supplies.  You can register at their website for program information, coupons and enter contests that could earn our schools bonus points. You can also register your ShopRite Price Plus card to automatically earn points for the school whenever you purchase participating products.

Both schools have BTE collection drives currently underway.  The students were given contest collection sheets to complete over the summer break.  They may return them to school any time now through September 30th.  If you would like another copy of the contest collection sheet(s), you may print them out from the GMRSD website.  There is no limit to how many forms each person may turn in (feel free to make copies if you will need additional forms). Both schools are having the same contest.  Each completed form of 50 BTE coupons will earn two entries into a raffle for a $10 ShopRite gift card.  We encourage all students to bring in their completed forms to help us kick off the school year with a bang!

Both schools will have more contests for both programs throughout the school year.   Due to their popularity, we’ll continue to have classroom competitions and will award the class (or classes) with the most submitted Box Tops a pizza and/or ice cream sundae party. We’ll continue to have raffles for gift cards to local stores like Kohl’s and ShopRite.  We want to let the parents share in the prizes since they are the ones who typically supply the kids with the Box Tops and Labels for Education in the first place!

We encourage all families to continue to save both the Box Tops and the Labels for Education UPCs throughout the school year!  Spread the word to your relatives and neighbors to clip and save them for you. As always, thank you for taking the time to help us make these programs a successful, easy way for our schools to earn much needed funds!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the coordinator  for your child’s school:
